Sam and Ally got married on August 2nd at the Hilton Hotel, Rockville, MD and Brian Lusby photographed this wedding with me –and some of his images are featured here. The Rockville Hilton is a great venue. The ceremony was held in the atrium and the hotel has wonderful “pockets” of light to make for some interesting and different images. We used the lobby area for the formals and it worked really well. Ally looked absolutely stunning. I’ve included some “first look” pics both with her father (and proud mother looking on) and with Sam, the groom. Here are some of my favorite images from the wedding.
Amanda and Dave got married on August 9th at McLean Presbyterian Church, McLean, Virginia. with the reception at the McLean Ballroom. Amanda looked absolutely beautiful. For something “old” she had her aunt’s brooch sewn onto her dress and her earrings matched perfectly. It was a very happy occasion and there were many “tears of joy” throughout the day as reflected in these images. We had a full team at this wedding Anne Lord with Brian Lusby as the second photographer some of his beautiful images are also showcased here. Geoff Baynard helped with lighting and detail shots at the reception.
Ally & Dave are getting married in October and I had fun spending time doing their engagement shoot recently. It is evident they are crazy in love and I hope I captured some of their romance and passion. So looking forward to being part of their special day and wedding which will be at the Carnegie Institute in Washington, DC.
Sarah and Myles got married on June 28th at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Vienna, Virginia with the reception at Westwood Country Club. It was a glorious day. Sarah looked stunning and her two beautiful sisters and future sister-in-law made up the bridal party. I am including a few of the images taken of them here in this blog. Brian Lusby was the second photographer at this wedding and some of his images are featured here.
Rebecca & Brandon were married on July 12th with the ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church, Arlington, VA and reception at the Fort Myer’s Officers Club. Rebecca looked so radiant and it was a beautiful wedding. We took a detour from the church to stop off at the Iwo Jima Memorial to take some bride and groom photos. Brian Lusby was the second photographer at this wedding and some of his images are shown here.
Eleanore & Dustin got married on July 5th and the ceremony and reception were all at the Tysons Corner Marriott Hotel, Virginia. Their 7 month old daughter was included in the wedding festivities. However, as can be seen she couldn’t help but fall asleep during the ceremony. Here are a few sample images from their wedding.
Caroline Luck has just launched a new business and came through to have some photos taken for her new website. Caroline is a print-making artist based in Northern Virginia and focuses on block printing. She loves the organic and rustic look that the images have and she has turned this hobby into a business and artistic obsession. Check out her website and work at printedluck.bigcartel.com Caroline had a specific vision for the images she wanted me to create. The Anne Lord Photography outdoor lakeside studio with weeping willow trees provided the perfect backdrop. Of course, being a “pet friendly” studio Princess my beautiful calico cat wanted to be part of the shoot and came in for a couple of pics at the beginning. Then – when Caroline was changing her outfit I couldn’t help but sneak in a quick pic of Mr. Higgins who always likes to watch the proceedings and is always close by. Caroline is beautiful not only on the outside and she was a delight to work with.
The Bailey family came to the studio for their annual family portrait session. I had the privilege and honor of photographing the Baileys on their wedding day a few years ago, then again a year ago when their daughter Gracelyn was born. Gracie has just turned one – what a delight she is. We had fun photographing her with her birthday cake. We were also joined by Remi of Loudon County K9 unit.
Stephanie and Dan were married at St. John Neumann Church, Reston on Saturday, April 26 with the wedding reception at the Marriott Dulles Airport Hotel. Another wonderful wedding with a different twist. Stephanie and Dan love playing games and this became the theme of the wedding. Stephanie’s parents, Ken and Kathy Smith did an outstanding job incorporating the theme throughout the wedding day and topped it all with an amazing slideshow which was presented at the reception. So many new and exciting details – some of which are shown in the images in this blog. Stephanie’s brother Jeff produced and laser cut the cake topper and “Mr and Mrs” signs. As Kathy said – they embraced the theme and felt it is “just an expression of the fun couple Stephanie and Dan are and their love of lie and each other”. Brian Lusby was my valuable second shooter at this wedding.
